Acetominophen is the active ingredient in Tylenol, an aspirin free pain killer. Acetaminophen belongs to a class of drugs called analgesics (pain relievers) and antipyretics (fever reducers). This compound is important for people who cannot take aspirin, so acetominophen is a common substitute.

http://ajpendo.physiology.org/cgi/reprint/271/3/E529.pdf (Scholarly Source)

Salicylic Acid synthesis

http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/pagerender.fcgi?artid=41889&pageindex=2#page (Scholarly Source & Reaction)

The resulting compound is an acid.
I chose to draw the catalysis of benzoic acid to salicylic acid by means of an enzyme. This enzyme is BA2H, benzoic acid 2-hydroxylase. This enzyme is present in tobacco leaf extracts, and specifically catalyzes the the conversion of Benzoic Acid to Salicylic acid.

Salicylic Acid is commonly used in over the counter acne medications. Salicylic acid helps slow down shedding of the cells inside the follicles, preventing clogging of the pores which trigger ultimatley trigger the formation of pimples. It is also used to treat other skin disorders including dandruff, psoriasis, calluses, corns, warts, and more.

By: Sandhya Manivannan
